BabelCom is an intercom, access-control, resident communication, and site operations product operated by Somewhat Labs for product-level services. Individual installed sites may also publish site-specific privacy terms through their local BabelCom node after installer and administrator handover.

Information We Process

Depending on how BabelCom is used, we may process account details, resident or administrator contact information, device identifiers, access-control events, invite activity, support messages, billing records, diagnostic data, and app usage information needed to provide and secure the service.

How We Use Information

We use information to operate the mobile app and hosted services, authenticate users, support access-control workflows, provide billing and support, maintain security, troubleshoot issues, improve reliability, and meet legal obligations.

Local Site Data

BabelCom is designed for local site operation. A building, estate, or operator may control additional records on its own BabelCom node, including resident registers, access rules, retention settings, and local audit logs. Those site-specific records are governed by the site's own administrator and published node-local legal documents where applicable.

Sharing

We do not sell personal information. We may share information with service providers that help operate hosting, billing, support, analytics, security, communications, and compliance workflows. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect users and systems, or as part of a business transfer.

Retention

We retain product-level records for as long as needed to provide the service, resolve disputes, maintain security, comply with law, and support billing or audit requirements. Site-controlled retention settings may differ and should be confirmed with the relevant site administrator.

Your Choices

You may request access, correction, export, or deletion of product-level personal information by contacting us. Some requests may need to be directed to the relevant site administrator where the information is controlled locally by a building or estate.
